Wales Regional Waste Plans

The 1st Review of the North Wales Regional Waste Plan is currently underway. The Review has been agreed by the North Wales Regional Waste Group and has been submitted to each Local Planning Authority to consider for endorsement.

Once published the Review will replace the North Wales Regional Waste Plan and will become a material consideration in planning terms.

Report on Hazardous Waste

The review of the Regional Waste Plan will:
incorporate the conclusions and recommendations of the Annual Monitoring Reports;
immediately review the situation in relation to hazardous waste planning;
review and update the forecasts used in the Regional Waste Plan;
set out the details of the review of the preferred option and allocation of waste management capacity to each local authority in the region
convert capacity requirements to a required land take for each local authority area;
incorporate an assessment of the environmental, sustainability and health impacts of the options for future waste management in the region (including a Life Cycle Assessment, a Sustainability Assessment, a Health Impact Assessment and a Strategic Environmental Assessment;
explain the justification of the decisions relating to the review of the preferred option including the consultation procedures undertaken and responses received; and
confirm the approval of the preferred option by the Regional Waste Group
